BISANZIO ROMA E KIEV
BISANZIO ROMA E KIEV AL TEMPO DELL'IMPERATORE L'epoca dell'imperatore bizantino Giovanni Tzimisce (969-976), che conquistò la Palestina e vinse i Russi di Sviatoslav, rappresenta un periodo storico del tutto particolare per l'Europa. Tra Costantinopoli, rutilante capitale dell'Impero d'Oriente, Roma, dove si svolsero le nozze della nobile bizantina Teofano con l'erede al trono dell'Impero d'Occidente Ottone II e Kiev, da dove la principessa Olga, convertitasi al cristianesimo, intrecciava relazioni diplomatiche con entrambi gli Imperi europei, si istituirono rapporti di convivenza che sembravano preludere a tempi nuovi per l'umanità.
In questo libro sono riportate le traduzioni di settanta brani di documenti della più svariata origine e provenienza per illustrare la storia di quegli anni vista con gli occhi dei protagonisti o dei testimoni. Un modo per meditare sulle nostre lontane radici. BYZANTIUM ROME AND KIEV AT THE TIME OF EMPEROR JOHN TZIMISKES The time of the Byzantine Emperor Giovanni Tzimisce ( 969 – 976 ) who conquered Palestine and won the Russians led by Grand Duke Svjatoslav represented an historical period of particular nature for Europe. While Constantinople, the glowing capital of the Eastern Roman Empire, Rome, where the wedding of the Bizantine aristocrat Teofano with the Crown Prince of the Western Empire Otto II was celebrated and Kiev , from which Princess Olga, converted to Christianity, established diplomatic relations with both European Empires, coexistence relationship was instituted heralding apparently a new Epoch for the humanity. In such book the translations of excerpts of documents of various origins and sources are contained illustrating the history of that time as witnessed by the protagonists . Somehow this helps to ponder on our remote origins. BYZANCE ROME ET KIEV DU TEMPS DE L'EMPEREUR JEAN TZYMISKES L'époque où vécut l'empereur byzantin Jean Tzimiskès (969-976), qui conquérit la Palestine et vainquit le prince russe Sviatoslav, représente une période tout à fait particulière dans l'histoire d'Europe. Il sembla, alors, qu'un nouveau temps alla commencer: il y avait des bonnes relations entre Constantinople, rutilante capitale de l'Empire oriental, Rome, où le pape célébra les noces de la noble byzantine Théophane avec Othon II, jeune successeur de l'empereur allemand, et Kiev, où la princesse Olga, qui venait de se convertir au christianisme, essaya de se lier diplomatiquement avec les deux Empires. Dans ce livre-ci on peut trouver soixante-dix documents dont les auteurs ont été des écrivains, des annalistes, des souverains, des législateurs, des poètes et d'autres protagonistes ou bien témoins de leur époque; ça donne lieu de méditer sur nos lointaines racines. ВИЗАНТИЯ РИМ И КИЕВ ВО ВРЕМЯ ИМПЕРАТОРА ИОАННА ЦИМИСХИЯ Эпоха византийского императора Иоанна Цимисхия (969-976 гг.), который захватил Палестину и победил русского Великого князя Святослава, представляет особый исторический период для Европы. Между Константинополем, блестающей столицей Восточной Империи, Римом, где праздновали свадьбу Византийской дворянки Феофано с наследником западного Императора Оттоном II, и Киевом, откуда христианка княгиня Ольга отправилась завязывать дипломатические отношения с обеими европейскими империями, начались добрососедские связи, предшествующие новым временам человечества.
В этой книге использованы семьдесят источников, написанных на разных языках свидетелями и участниками событий такой эпохи. Это средство, чтобы вспомнить о наших далеких корнях.
